Website Segmentation for CHANEL

Website Segmentation for CHANEL

Description

🧠 Context

As part of an advanced SEO analysis for CHANEL, I designed a structured segmentation system to categorize site pages based on technical and thematic criteria. This segmentation serves as a shared reference between internal teams and partners to improve analysis, prioritization, and recommendation quality.

🚧 Challenge

The volume and diversity of pages on CHANEL’s international site made consistent analysis difficult. Complex URL structures, pagination rules and regional variants required customized segmentation to clearly distinguish page types and SEO priorities.

💡 Solution

I developed a segmentation plan based on:

  • Technical regex to classify pages by type (PDP, PLP, articles, etc.)
  • Thematic axes: fragrances, haute couture, watches, etc.
  • Geographical clusters (EMEA, APAC, AMER, CHINA)
  • Complementary tags (store locator, boutique pages…)

The configuration was tested in Screaming Frog via multiple .seospiderconfig files and now enables fast, consistent, and actionable analysis of CHANEL’s global site.

Mission

Design a thematic, technical, and geographic segmentation system integrated into Screaming Frog to facilitate international SEO audits.
