PDP Redirect Rules for CHANEL

Description
🧠 Context
CHANEL's product detail pages (PDP) are subject to automatic redirects when they become obsolete or when their URLs are poorly formatted. This project aimed to define precise rules ensuring that each non-canonical resource finds a relevant target without breaking user experience or harming SEO.
🚧 Challenge
404 errors or redirects to unstable resources occurred when calling deleted or misnamed PDPs, leading to organic traffic loss and wasted crawl budget.
💡 Solution
- 301 redirect to canonical PDP via product identifier (SKU) if it exists
- Fallback redirect to parent category page if SKU is unknown or deleted
- Application of generic redirect rule grid (http/https, trailing slash...)
These rules prevent navigation errors, preserve internal PageRank, and ensure long-term structural consistency of the site.
