Headless Migration for CHANEL

Headless Migration for CHANEL

Description

🧠 Context

As part of CHANEL's omnichannel digital transformation, the group’s entire websites (ONE platform) are being progressively migrated to a headless architecture. This replatforming aims to improve performance, frontend modularity, cross-channel consistency, and international publication workflows.

🚧 Challenge

Ensuring SEO compliance for a continuously evolving technical foundation, in a complex environment combining reusable components (Atomic Design), Agile sprints, multiple staging environments, and globally distributed technical teams.

The challenge is to secure the migration while preserving organic visibility and SEO fundamentals.

💡 Solution

As technical SEO lead for this multi-year project, I supported product and development teams in designing, specifying, and validating all critical SEO components:

  • SEO recommendations during RFP drafting
  • SEO specifications for each component within the Atomic Design framework
  • Daily collaboration with architects, lead developers, and product owners
  • Active participation in Agile ceremonies (sprints, refinements, plannings)
  • In-depth SEO testing across multiple staging environments
  • Contribution to defining SEO-compliant technical requirements for headless architecture

This ongoing involvement ensures the headless migration remains fully aligned with CHANEL's global SEO objectives while adapting to the new stack's technical constraints.

Mission

Strategic and operational SEO support for CHANEL’s headless migration, working directly with product and development teams on the new ONE platform.
